Road Rage

A short fictional story about the experience of road rage.

Playtime: 59 seconds

2014

Won 2nd place in animation category from Sixth College VPC Film Festival (2014)

Production notes:

I’m pretty sure when I made this I didn’t know how to drive yet - so to draw on real life inspiration I watched videos of car accidents in Russia and how people there dealt with problems.

Quite a few cheetos were used for this animation. For eyes I used bottle caps of the small Starbucks frappucinos. The pupils were cut from paper. The nose is quite obviously an eraser. The driving wheel is an old glow stick, and the hands are plastic spoons. The perks of being a zero budget film student.

Since this was my first ever stop motion animation, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be successful or not. I was worried about there not being enough frames. Everytime I moved something I took a picture. I think I took a total of 600ish pictures, but the video only came out at 3 frames per second. This gave me first hand experience of how laborious stop motion animation is.
